A Casual books category? What does that even mean?
WELL, that means that I couldn’t decide on a category title an just put something random in.
Kidding, kidding.
What it actually means, is that the book reviewed wasn’t bad, I just don’t particularly care for it.
See any book with a rating under 4 is average. It was okay, I read it. I did not regret it. But I wouldn’t have regretted not reading it.
Now, this rating can vary A LOT. I would argue that this is the most varied category on this site. A book can have the most original idea ever, amazing character development and gripping side characters. The writing style however… would normally put me to sleep.
OR it could have the best writing style ever but with unoriginal ideas, the miscommunication trope and whatever else that makes us gag at the idea of these books being published.
It could have a good beginning and a disappointing ending. Or vise versa.
I could just find the main characters interesting but nothing else.
I could…
Okay. You get the idea.
Average book reviews are the backbone of this community. It’s what makes the best books stand out and the worst books TRULY horrible.
Again, this is just my opinion. Casual Books are perfect for you to see our different our tastes are. You may rate one of these books as absolutely terrible. It might be your favorite book, who knows?
Besides, after reading a 5/5 book, you need a really average book to come back down from that high. And what better than browsing an entire category called Casual books?
